Snowflake Challenge - Day 12
Jan. 12th, 2016 02:00 pmDay 12
What makes you fannish? And by that we mean, what is it about a tv show/movie/book/band/podcast/etc that takes you from, "Yeah, I like that," to "I need MOAR!!!" Is it a character? A plotline? The pretty? Subtext that’s just screaming to be acknowledged? In your own space, tell us what it is that gets you to cross that line into fandom.
Supernatural introduced me to the concept of fanfiction and fandom. Before it there were many shows that I enjoyed and would watch over and over, but nothing made me seek out more information; spoilers, photos, interview etc. It was while looking for 'MOAR' that I stumbled across fanfiction, and then fandom in general.
And like I mentioned in a previous days challenge, it was the relationship between Sam and Dean that drew me in. The first episode I saw was 1.05 Bloody Mary, and it hooked me; the story line, the horror elements, the already complicated relationship between the brothers, the secrets and history, the family mysteries and ties, the h/c, the pretty - just the whole package. By 1.22 Devils Trap I was desperate for more and the rest, as they say, is history. Eleven seasons later and I'm still here, with no intention of leaving; I'm invested, still wanting 'MOAR' from Show and the characters, and still absolutely fascinated with the brothers Winchester.
