Drabble Fic - Revenge (13.20)
Title: Revenge
Summary: 13.20 Drabble. Thoughts about revenge are never far from Sam's mind.
Rating: PG13
Genre/Spoilers: Gen. Season 13 spoilers.
Warnings: Unbeta'd
Word Count: 100
Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural that privilege belongs to CW, Kripke and Co, I'm simply borrowing them for a while. I'm not making a profit, this is just for fun and all the standard disclaimers apply.
Revenge
Revenge gets you nowhere and it's always ugly. Logically Sam knows that, that's what he told Rowena, that's what he tells himself when he wakes up in the pitch black of night in a cold sweat with dread running through his veins.
But he still asks Gabriel how it feels, and it doesn't stop him wishing for something other than what he knows he's going to hear.
Deep down, hidden underneath all the platitudes and logic, his need for revenge is growing like a cancer that he can't cure, and one day, it just might be the death of him.
A/N: There were some feely moment in this episode that I adored, and I loved the horse guy too (I mean the eating of the apple and carrot? Too cute!) The scene after the explosion with Jack and Mary was beautifully shot, and we saw that Jack has wings!! I adored the last scene with Dean and Sam too. I focused on Sam's conversation with Gabriel's about revenge here, because it sure seemed that Sam was more than a little interested about it, and I can't help but wonder if this is linked to revenge thoughts about Lucifer (or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part!) As always I'd love to hear your thoughts too; on the episode, on the drabble, on everything (just no spoilers please). Take care :)

I love this line, and I fear that you're right and Sam will ignore all logic and reason to seek revenge on Lucifer.
Perhaps he'll join forces with Rowena to do so. And I think Dean was trying hard during the episode to prove how pointless revenge was, as he's so scared Sam will go after Lucifer. I adored the last scene between the brothers, too. Sam needed to get that off his chest, but Dean is just doing what he's done since he was 4 years old and looking after his little brother.
