Title: The Bigger Picture
Summary: 13.07 Drabble. Sam needs his faith and his compassion.
Rating: PG13
Genre/Spoilers: Gen. Season 13 spoilers.
Warnings: Unbeta'd
Word Count: 100
Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural that privilege belongs to CW, Kripke and Co, I'm simply borrowing them for a while. I'm not making a profit, this is just for fun and all the standard disclaimers apply.
The Biggar Picture
Maybe Sam does have too much belief in people, too much faith, and sympathy. Maybe that does make him vulnerable.
But after everything he's been through; all the trauma, heartache and loss, he needs to be positive, or he can't live this life.
So his trust in Ketch is just a stumbling block in the bigger picture; he won't lose faith that his mother is still alive, or that Jack is a good kid, because his faith is who he is; his compassion is who is, and to win the war, you need to have faith in who you are.
A/N: Hmmm, this episode was a bit of mixed bag for me. Personally it felt like they tried to do too much in one episode, setting up so many other storylines, that it sort of lost it's focus a little. Also if you wanted Ketch to return, why kill him at all? I don't mind that he's back, but the reason was so poor, and I would have rather that he we saw him disappear at the end of season 12. And how many 'baddies' do we actually have this season? Surely just one big one is much more effective than a whole cast of them (Ketch, Asmodeous, Lucifer, and Michael and we're not sure where Jack fits in yet). However, I did love Michael, I think he has a strong presence on screen, and it was a joy to see Alt!Kevin, and I like the concept of Angel numbers depleting, and the direction was strong. I focused on Sam here, because for me having faith in people shouldn't be seen as a weakness, and I wanted to see him shine! As always I'd love to hear your thoughts too; on the episode, on the drabble, on everything (just no spoilers please). Take care :)
