Spn_Cinema - Here We Come!!!

Forgive me as I try (and probably fail) to contain my squee, but amberdreams and I have signed up to do a fic and art collab as part of this years spn_cinema! How exciting is that?! I've been wanting to work with her for ages, and now it's happening. For real.

I sort of twisted amberdreams's arm as she isn't familiar with the movie, but we've chosen A Quiet Place which is a wonderful movie that I'd recommend to anyone. It's a tense watch, but very well executed in every way. Here's the trailer to whet your appetite;

Anyway, I'd better get planning this fic, and bothering amberdreams with way too many emails ;)

I loved this movie. And, I have to admit, I did contemplate this movie. But, the one I picked, When The Bough Breaks, just spoke to me. I can't wait to see what the two of you create.

You probably would have got it first too as I was having problems posting our claim!!! I do love the movie though and I'm excited to get stuck in.

Mine is a psychological thriller. Last year was my first time doing this & I enjoyed it & reading/seeing what was created.

I can't wait to see what everyone produces this year. There were some great choices when I took a look.

It's sooooo good!!! It's a tense watch for sure and full things that make you jump, but I think because there's not a lot of sound in the movie, every time there is a noise it sounds magnified and like an explosion!!! I'd definitely recommend it and it's fairly short too, if I remember correctly.

I've made a start, but I'm feeling the pressure a little bit because I want AMB to be inspired artwise. Eeeek, I'd better get cracking!!! Thanks for the support :)

I saw them talking about it on the Graham Norton show and it looks very eerie - as you said, the silence makes every sound nerve-wracking!

Yes, I saw that interview on GN too, and it was one of the reasons I went. I saw it with my brother and we were both plenty surprised with how much we enjoyed it!

Thank you!!! I'm not going to lie - I'm nervous about this one. I think because I really liked the film and I'm working with AMB, and I feel the nervous excitement build. I'm sure I'll feel better once I get cracking on the fic.

I'd recommend the movie; it'a a tense watch, pretty full on, and edge of seat stuff, but it's so well done and I feel like it's one of those premises that someone should have thought of already.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I've heard it's truly terrifying. But you know, SPN and J2 versions are often my first introduction to a film! :) I'm looking forward to reading and seeing the art for this.

It's an edge-of-your-seat kinda film, very tense and full of things that make you jump, but I was very impressed with it. You really care about the characters and it's fascinating seeing how they've had to adapt in order to survive.

O.o Can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I loved this movie, but I found it way too scary to watch with the concussion (everything scary is amplified x 100) but I can still READ scary stories, especially J2 or SD scary stories!!!!! WOOT!

Yikes, I can imagine that it must have been hard to watch with your concussion. It was so very tense, and the way they limited sound making every noise so heightened, really made you jump. I'm sure how scary the fic the will, at the moment it's just sort of based in this world, but I think it's gonna be J2.
